Duravel and Vire, the two closest villages,
are each about a mile away and have local
shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.
Fumel with a choice of big supermarkets is
about six miles away and Puy L'Eveque
even closer. The house is on the edge of
the vineyards of Cahors with the Dordogne
valley under an hour's drive away.
Things to do
From the celebrated black wine of Cahors,
to the nearby delights of Bordeaux -
Medoc, Saint Emilion, Graves - wine lovers
are in for a treat. There's food to match -
this is the home of foie gras,
truffle-flavoured pates, Arachon oysters
and more. Must-sees are the caves of
les Eyzies and Lascaux and the
Gouffre de Padirac.
For the actively inclined there's canoeing
and boat trips on the Lot; cycling, golf,
walking, riding, fishing and tennis.
